Auburn Hosts SEC Women's Tennis Championship

Auburn, Ala. - Auburn University and the City of Auburn are set to host the 2008 Southeastern Conference Women's Tennis Championship at the Yarbrough Tennis Center. Tournament play will begin on Thursday, April 17, at 10 a.m., CT, when the Ole Miss Rebels face off with the Kentucky Wildcats on courts 1-6, and the Alabama Crimson Tide compete with the LSU Tigers on courts 7-12. At 2 p.m., CT., South Carolina will face Auburn on courts 1-6, and Mississippi State will face Tennessee on courts 7-12. Florida, Vanderbilt, Georgia and Arkansas all have a first round bye. Georgia will face the winner of Ole Miss/Kentucky on Friday at 10 a.m. Arkansas will face the winner of Alabama/LSU, also at 10 a.m. Florida will face the winner of South Carolina/Auburn at 2 p.m., Friday, while Vanderbilt will face the winner of Mississippi State/Tennessee. Championship Passes are available on-line at www.autigertickets.com (click "Buy Tickets") and are good for all four days of the championship. Adult passes are $15 and student/seniors passes are $10. Single Day Passes are $6 for adults and $4 for students/seniors and will be available for purchase each day at the tennis center, one hour prior to the first match of the day. Free public parking for the championship will be available at Richland Elementary across the street from the tennis center. Because of the terrace seating at the Yarbrough Tennis Center, fans are encouraged to bring lawn chairs and blankets. The facility asks that fans do not bring pets, alcohol or outside food or beverages. Concessions will be available.
