No. 30 Auburn Travels To Nashville to Take on No. 11 Vandy

Auburn, Ala. - The No. 30 Auburn women's tennis team (12-3, 3-1 SEC) travels to Nashville, Tenn., to take on the No. 11 Vanderbilt Commodores on Friday, March 21, at 2:30 p.m.

The Commodores are 11-3 this season and 1-3 in the SEC. Vanderbilt has key wins over Michigan, Notre Dame and Georgia Tech. Their single conference win came over the LSU Tigers.

Vandy has three singles players ranked in the top 100. Amanda Taylor is ranked No. 22, followed by Catherine Newman at No. 34. Courtney Ulery is ranked No. 58 and Taka Bertrand is ranked at No. 94.

The Tigers will look to sophomore Fani Chifchieva, who has not lost a match since Jan. 26, to extend her win-streak. Chifchieva, 14-1, 4-0 SEC, is ranked No. 24 by the ITA.

Auburn will also be counting on doubles duo Alex Haney and Melissa Koning to extend their conference win streak. The pair, ranked No. 18 by the ITA, is currently 4-0 in the SEC.

Auburn will return to the Plains on March 23, to host No. 23 Kentucky. The match, originally schedule for 1 p.m., will begin at noon on Sunday. Admission to the match is free. Live stats will be available at www.auburtigers.com.
