Auburn Softball Takes on Mercer Bears Tuesday

Auburn, Ala. - The Auburn softball team will play a midweek double-header against the Mercer Bears in Macon, Ga., Tuesday beginning at 3 p.m. CT. Radio

The Tigers are 27-7 overall and 7-4 in the Southeastern Conference this season and have won their last six consecutive non-conference games. Auburn is 20-3 against non-conference teams in 2008.

Mercer is 21-12 overall and 2-2 in the Atlantic Sun and has won three of its last four games.

Junior catcher Tatiana Fernandez has paced the Tigers over the last 10 games, hitting .357 with 10 RBI, five doubles and two home runs. Fernandez has moved into eighth place with 89 career RBI and is tied for eighth place in career home runs with 18.

The Tigers are coming off a series sweep at the hands of 10th-ranked LSU this past weekend in Baton Rouge. Auburn is currently third in the SEC West standings and has gone 7-3 in its last 10 games.

Auburn is 10-0 all-time against Mercer and won the last meeting 19-0 in 2006.
