BIRMINGHAM, Ala. -

Auburn sophomore A.J. Mills has been named to the Southeastern Conference Gymnastics Good Works Team, as announced by the conference office on Tuesday.

A native of Greenville, Ind., Mills was one of seven gymnasts, one from each competing school, who were named to the Good Works Team, which recognizes an athlete from each university who gives back to their community in superior service efforts.  Mills has been an active member in the community by participating in numerous community service projects in and around the Auburn community.

Mills has been involved in many worthwhile projects such as the Downtown Trick or Treat project, in which student-athletes sign autographs and pose for pictures.  Along with her teammates, she has visited East Alabama Medical Center on several occasions over the past two years and spends time at Auburn's elementary schools, reading and teaching kids.  Mills is a member of SAAC (Student Athletic Advisory Committee) and was recently named a Camp War Eagle counselor, one of the most prestigious and sought-after positions at Auburn.

A marketing and finance major, Mills has competed in each event for Auburn so far this season and is currently ranked in a tie for 18th in the country in the all around.

Auburn travels to North Little Rock, Ark., on Saturday for the SEC Championships, which begin at 6:05 p.m. at Alltell Arena.  Tickets are $12-14 and available at the Alltel Arena Box Office, all ticketmaster outlets, charge by phone 501-975-7575 or online at www.ticketmaster.com.
