Auburn, Ala. - The Auburn gymnastics team will play host to No. 3 Alabama on Friday, Jan. 18, at 7 p.m., in Beard-Eaves-Memorial Coliseum for the Pink Meet: Flip for the Cure. The Tigers' (0-1, 0-1 SEC) match-up with the Tide (1-0, 0-0 SEC) marks the opening of AU's home schedule and the first of two dual meets between the two programs in 2008.

"This is always a fun meet," said Auburn head coach Jeff Thompson. "The first couple of years that we did it, we were horrible in pink. We broke the jinx last year and had a great meet against Alabama, so we are excited about being in pink this year."

In conjunction with the Auburn chapter of Zeta Tau Alpha and the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation, the Tigers will be donning pink leotards to raise breast cancer awareness.

Fans are encouraged to wear their pink apparel in support of breast cancer awareness. Gates open at 5 p.m., and the first 350 fans will receive a free AU Pink Tote sponsored by Auburn Bank.

Auburn will be holding a pre-meet silent auction with all proceeds going to the Susan G. Komen Foundation. Auction items include autographed memorabilia from AU head football coach Tommy Tuberville, AU Heisman trophy winner Bo Jackson and former Auburn Tiger and current Atlanta Braves pitcher Tim Hudson, as well as a free week of gymnastics camp and a pink leotard like the ones that AU gymnasts will be wearing. Also being auctioned are spa packages, purses, and gift certificates donated by local businesses.

Other activities at the meet include a Kids' Zone with inflatable games, cheek tattoos and more. The Auburn gymnasts will be available on the concourse to sign autographs following the meet.

Gymnastics regular season tickets are available at www.auburntigers.com. Adult season passes are $20 and youth passes are $8. Family packages of four season passes are available for $48. Single match tickets are $5 for adults and $2 for children. Admission is free for Auburn students with a valid ID.
