Cydney Clanton Named Golfweek All-American

AUBURN - Auburn freshman golfer Cydney Clanton was named to Golfweek's All-American Second Team it was announced Wednesday. Clanton finished the season ranked No. 13 in the country, while averaging a tea, best 73.54 for the year. Clanton was Auburn's top finisher at the NCAA Championship two weeks ago as she finished tied for 23rd (74-75-77-71--297). For her efforts, Clanton was named First-Team All-American and NGCA Freshman Golfer of the Year. At the East Regional, Clanton tied for fourth (70-75-72--218) and at the SEC Championship she finished 29th. Clanton was named SEC Freshman of the Year and First-Team All-SEC. She turned in five top five finishes this year and seven in the top 10, which includes tying for first at the UT Mercedes-Benz Collegiate Championship. Clanton will spend the summer competing as she was named to the U.S vs. Japan Championship team and is currently in the process of qualifying for the U.S. Open. First Team
