Norman, Okla. - The Golf Coaches Association of American announced the 12-member team for the 2008 Fuji Xerox USA vs. Japan Collegiate Golf Championship and included on that list is Auburn freshman Cydney Clanton. The 33rd annual competition will be held July 16-18 at Tokyo Golf Club. "It is an honor for Cydney to represent the United States in this match," Auburn head coach Kim Evans said. "We are proud that she will be on the team and feel she earned this honor. Cydney will go to Japan in July and represent Auburn and the United States well." Clanton is ranked No. 13 in the country and recently finished fourth at the NCAA East Regional (70-75-72--217). Named SEC Freshman of the Year and First-Team All-SEC, Clanton has five top-five finishes this season and seven in the top 10. She leads the No. 11 Tigers with a 73.45 average. Clanton and Auburn are set to compete at the NCAA Championship May 20-23 in Albuquerque, N.M.
