Atlanta, Ga. - The Women's Basketball Coaches Association, in cooperation with State Farm, announced the 52 regional finalists on Wednesday for the 2008 State Farm Coaches' All-America Basketball Team for Division I. The selection committee will review the 52 candidates and cut the list down to 40 finalists on March 20. The 40 finalists will all be in the running for selection to the 10-member All-America team.

Bonner, a native of Fairfield, Ala., leads Auburn on both sides of the ball. She is the league's second leading scorer with 18.5 points and grabs an SEC best 10.2 rebounds per game. Both averages rank her in the top 30 in the nation. Bonner has been Auburn's leading scorer in 17 of the 30 contests she has played in and has notched 15 double-doubles in that span. Bonner also finds herself in the top 10 in the SEC in field goal percentage, free throw percentage, steals, blocks, offensive rebounds and defensive rebounds.

A first team All-SEC selection by the league's coaches and the Associated Press, Bonner currently ranks ninth all-time at Auburn in scoring with 1,430 points and is 10th in rebounding with 752 boards. She is one of only six players ever to be in the top 10 in both categories. She ranks second in career free throws made (379) and second on the season free throws made (165) list. Bonner is on pace to become just the second ever Auburn player to lead Auburn in scoring and rebounding three consecutive years

In an effort to establish a fair number of candidates from each region, an equation to determine the number of regional nominees was formulated. The total number of DI institutions in each region was divided by the total number of DI institutions to get a percentage for each region. Multiply 52 by the percentage to get a total number of finalists for each region.

The State Farm Coaches' All-America Basketball Team for NCAA Division I will be announced at the press conference at the Tampa Hyatt Regency on April 5, at 9:45 a.m. ET.

Auburn (20-11) begins play in the NCAA Tournament on March 22 in Stanford, Calif. The Tigers take on No. 20 George Washington at 1 p.m. CT in Maples Pavilion. The game will be televised on ESPN2.
