Auburn, Ala. - The No. 29 Auburn men's tennis team begins post-season play on Thursday at the SEC Tournament. The Tigers meet No. 56 Kentucky at 11 a.m. at the W.T. "Dub" Robinson Tennis Stadium in Baton Rouge, La.

Auburn finished the regular season 13-8 overall and 6-5 in the league, while Kentucky ended with a 13-14 overall ledger (3-8 SEC). The Tigers earned the seventh seed while Kentucky is the 10-seed. The winner of the match will meet second-seeded Ole Miss on Friday at 11 a.m.

"We ended the regular season well," head coach Eric Shore said. "I hope to continue this momentum in the conference tournament, beginning on Thursday against Kentucky. I hope we can get out to the early lead by taking the doubles point and build on that."

After finishing the season with four out-of-five wins, the Tigers jumped five spots in the FILA Collegiate Rankings to 29th ; the highest ranking for Auburn this season. In singles rankings, senior Robbert Lathouwers improved to 38th, while classmate Alex Schweizer dropped to 57th. The pair also finds themselves 44th in the doubles rankings.

Auburn is 3-0 all-time in the SEC Tournament when playing Kentucky. The last time Auburn faced the Wildcats at the conference meet was 2002 in the second round. Kentucky's Bruno Agostinelli is ranked 83rd and Will Ward is 110th. Ward and doubles partner Peter Bjork are ranked 40th.
