No. 26 Men's Tennis Falls 7-0 At 11th-Ranked Florida

GAINESVILLE, Fla. - The No. 26 Auburn men's tennis team dropped its first of three-straight road matches, 7-0, at No. 11 Florida on Friday at the Ring Tennis Complex in Gainesville. Auburn (9-10, 3-6 SEC) was swept for the second straight match Friday against Florida (12-5, 7-2 SEC), but for only the third time this season. Alex Lacroix and Nestor Briceno started doubles play by defeating Tim Puetz and Lukas Marsoun on court two, 8-3. Auburn tied it up as No. 49 Jeff Dadamo and Greg Ouellete lost to Alexey Tsyrenov and Terence Nugent, 8-5 at No. 1 singles. Tyler Hochwalt and Geoffrey Barton broke the tie and won the doubles point as they took down Pawel Dilaj and Alex Petropoulos, 8-3 on court three. Florida picked up where it left off in doubles by winning all six singles match-ups. Dadamo defeated Nugent at No. 4 singles, 6-4, 6-2, and No. 4 Ouellete defeated No. 37 Tsyrenov, 6-3, 6-2 on court one. Florida clinched the match at No. 3 as Marsoun lost to No. 51 Lacroix, 6-3, 6-3. No. 89 Briceno upset No. 66 Puetz, 6-3, 6-4 in No. 2 singles. Milan Krnjetin started off well on court six, taking the first set 7-5, but Erik Corace came back to win the second set 6-0. Corace took the match with a 10-7 third-set tiebreaker victory. On court five, Hochwalt and Dilaj split the first two sets, 7-6, 6-3, but Hochwalt took the match as hit won the third-set tiebreaker, 10-3.
