NORMAN, Okla. - Auburn rising senior Jay Moseley was named to The Cleveland Golf All-America Scholar team Thursday. Moseley had a 74.35 scoring average, appearing in all 13 of Auburn's tournaments this season while 80 percent of his rounds played counted. His best finish was a tie for 16th at the Seminole Intercollegiate.

"It was always one of my goals as soon as I enrolled in college," said Moseley. "I was really excited when my senior grades came in, and I met the criteria. I am thrilled to be named to this list because it is an elite honor. I know my parents are proud and know the hard work that I put in paid off. It is very rewarding."

The Bainbridge, Ga., native is a two-time member of the SEC Good Works Team. A Business Administration major, Moseley is a member of the Fellowship of Christian Athletes Leadership Team, organized and participated in the Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC) Clothing Drive and leads a Bible study for College Golf Fellowship. He volunteered for the Halloween Service Project, Beat Bama Food Drive, Toys for Tots, was a Salvation Army bell ringer and visited hurricane victims from local shelters. Moseley has served with the East Alabama Food Bank and is the Auburn male representative for the NCAA Regional Leadership Conference.

"I am very happy for Jay Moseley," said Auburn head coach Mike Griffin. "He epitomizes what it means to be a student-athlete. His work ethic and attitude on and off the golf course is exemplary, and he is a very fine person. Jay is very deserving of this honor."

Juniors and seniors with a 3.2 minimum cumulative grade-point average are eligible to be a Cleveland Golf All-America Scholar. In addition, athletes must obtain under a 76.0 stroke average for Division I.
