Auburn Football Signs Eltoro Freeman To National Letter Of Intent

AUBURN - Auburn football has signed Eltoro Freeman to a National Letter of Intent during the JUCO signing period, announced head coach Gene Chizik Friday.

Freeman is a 6-0, 225-pound linebacker who played at Mississippi Gulf Coast Community College in Perkinston, Miss. He will have three years of eligibility remaining at Auburn.

As a freshman in 2007, Freeman earned All-America honors after helping his school to a national title. Freeman recorded 65 tackles, 17 tackles for loss and five sacks that season. He elected to redshirted in 2008.

A native of Alexander City, Ala., Freeman attended Benjamin Russell High School and earned all-state honors as a senior after recording 140 tackles and 10 sacks. Freeman also saw time at running back as a senior, carrying the ball 15 times for 223 yards and three touchdowns. As a junior, he registered 100 tackles, including 52 for loss.
