Auburn Football Practice Report
Dec. 18, 2006 AUBURN, Ala. - After a day off Sunday, the Auburn football team resumed preparations for the AT&T Cotton Bowl Classic with a practice that lasted close to two hours Monday at Pat Dye Field at Jordan-Hare Stadium. The Tigers started implementing their game plan against Nebraska under warmer than usual temperatures, as the thermometer again passed 70 degrees. "Practice was excellent," said head coach Tommy Tuberville. "We started on Nebraska today. Everything looked good. We had a good day and a good attention span. We thought we'd come over (to Jordan-Hare Stadium) today to break the monotony." Auburn opened Monday's practice working on special teams before moving on to scout team preparation. The offense and defense came together for crossover drills, before concluding the workout with field goals. Similar to last week's practices, after the veterans were done with their workout, Auburn's freshmen stayed after for approximately 30 minutes of extra work. Tenth-ranked Auburn (10-2 overall, 6-2 Southeastern Conference) will meet Nebraska (9-4 overall, 6-2 Big 12) for the first time since 1982, when the Cornhuskers earned a 41-7 victory in Jordan-Hare Stadium. Nebraska has won all three previous meetings, including a 13-7 victory in the 1964 Orange Bowl. The Tigers and Nebraska will meet Jan. 1 in the 71st annual AT&T Cotton Bowl Classic. The game kicks off at 10:40 a.m. CT at Cotton Bowl Stadium and will air live on FOX.
