AUBURN - Former Auburn football players Jay Ratliff and Ronnie Brown have been named to the rosters for the 2009 Pro Bowl, the NFL announced today. Ratliff was named a starter on the NFC team, while Brown was selected as a reserve on the AFC squad.

Ratliff has started all 14 games in his fourth NFL season as a defensive tackle for Dallas. He has totaled 44 tackles (30 solo, 14 assists), including seven quarterback sacks, and batted down five passes - numbers that are all career highs. The Pro Bowl nod is the first of his career.

Brown has played in all 14 games at running back for Miami, making 11 starts. He has rushed for 827 yards and a career-high 10 touchdowns this season, while adding 218 yards on 24 receptions. He has also thrown two passes, completing both for 41 yards and a score. It will also be his first Pro Bowl game after four seasons in the league.

The 2009 Pro Bowl will be played Feb. 8 in Aloha Stadium in Honolulu, Hawaii. It will mark the 11th straight year that at least one former Auburn player has been on a Pro Bowl roster, including multiple honorees in each of the past three seasons.
