Auburn Announces 2008 Football Schedule

AUBURN - The Auburn football team will open the 2008 season on Aug. 30 against Louisiana-Monroe before a non-conference road game at BIG EAST opponent West Virginia. The Sept. 6 game at West Virginia will mark the first-ever meeting between the two schools.

LSU, Tennessee, Arkansas and Georgia will be Auburn's Southeastern Conference home games at Jordan-Hare Stadium, while the Tigers' road schedule will include games at Mississippi State, Vanderbilt, Ole Miss and Alabama. Auburn will have five road games on its schedule for the first time since 2003.

The Tigers open SEC play on Sept. 13 at Mississippi State before hosting LSU (Sept. 20) and Tennessee (Sept. 27) in consecutive weeks. It will mark Auburn's first meeting with the Volunteers since 2004 and the first meeting of the two programs at Jordan-Hare since 2003.

Following a trip to Vanderbilt on Oct. 4, the Tigers return home for two games against Arkansas (Oct. 11) and Southern Miss (Oct. 18) before having an open date on Oct. 25. Auburn will also have an open date on Nov. 22.

November's schedule opens with a road game at Ole Miss (Nov. 1), before home games against Tennessee-Martin (Nov. 8) and Georgia (Nov. 15). The 2008 schedule concludes on Nov. 29 at Alabama.

The Auburn-Tennessee-Martin game has be designated as Homecoming.
