20th Anniversary DVD Chronicles First Auburn-Alabama Football Game Played In Auburn
Nov. 12, 2009
AUBURN - On Dec. 2, 1989, the Alabama Crimson Tide played the Auburn Tigers at Jordan-Hare Stadium in Auburn for the first time. Even now, 20 years later, the memories of that game are magical and invoke deep emotions among Auburn people. To commemorate the 20th anniversary of the game, the Auburn ISP Sports Network has produced a DVD entitled First Time Ever, a complete record of Auburn's 30-20 victory over Alabama at a site many said would "never happen". The First Time Ever DVD includes a brand new production that provides a unique perspective of the event as told by the players, coaches and administrators who played key roles in the game. "For Auburn people, Dec. 2, 1989, is a day they will remember the rest of their lives," said Mike Hubbard, President of the Auburn ISP Sports Network. "This DVD not only provides an emotional 20-year retrospective of the significance of the game through interviews and behind-the-scenes video, it is truly an historical record of the entire event." In addition to the 20th anniversary retrospective production, special features on the DVD include: a digitally re-mastered version of the original 1989 game highlight tape; Coach Pat Dye's complete post-game locker-room speech to the team; post-game player locker-room interviews; and a special "Sights and Sounds of the Day" montage featuring never-before-seen video from the archives of the Auburn Network. The 20th Anniversary First Time Ever DVD, which will be available the week of the Auburn-Alabama game, may be purchased on Auburn's official athletic website, www.AuburnTigers.com as well as at numerous retailers throughout the state.
