AUBURN - Auburn junior defensive end Antonio Coleman was one of 33 players named Tuesday to the Mid-Season Watch List for the 2008 Ted Hendricks Award. The award is presented annually to college football's top defensive end.

Coleman is tied for second in the SEC with six quarterback sacks this season, and his 10.5 tackles for loss is tied for third best. He also leads the team with 12 quarterback hurries, and is tied for sixth with 40 total tackles (27 solo, 13 assists).

Coleman was named SEC Defensive Lineman of the week following Auburn's 14-12 victory over Tennessee Sept. 27, when he collected four tackles, including a sack and 1.5 tackles for loss, while helping Auburn hold the Volunteers to 191 yards of total offense.

The Hendricks Award's list of 33 players will be shortened to include five or six finalists in the final weeks of the season, and the final vote will be concluded on Dec. 3. The 2008 Hendricks Award winner will be announced Dec. 10.
