Auburn Football Practice Report
Oct. 12, 2006 AUBURN, Ala. - The Auburn football team held its final workout prior to Saturday's game against No. 2 Florida, practicing in shells for about an hour and a half Thursday morning at the practice fields behind the Athletic Complex. "It was a little cool this morning," said head coach Tommy Tuberville. "It looks like we've had a little change in the weather, which should be good for both teams. It's been a good week. There's been lots of enthusiasm. The guys are focused. Spirits are good, but we've got a tough task in front of us." Auburn started with special teams work during the first portion of practice before moving to scout team work. The Tigers finished with the first- and second-teams squaring off against each other in a two-minute drill. When No. 11 Auburn (5-1, 3-1 SEC) hosts No. 2 Florida (6-0, 4-0 SEC) Saturday, it will mark the highest-ranked team to play Auburn in Jordan-Hare Stadium since the Tigers stunned then-No. 1 Florida, 23-20, in 2001. Auburn is 2-0 in home game against teams ranked in the Associated Press top five since Tuberville's arrival, as the Tigers also beat then-No. 5 LSU, 10-9, in 2004. Saturday's game will begin at 6:45 p.m. CT at Pat Dye Field at Jordan-Hare Stadium and will be televised live by ESPN. Also, Saturday's game is the second "All Auburn, All Orange" football game this season. Fans may purchase an "All Auburn, All Orange" t-shirt at Auburn area retail outlets, as well as on-line at www.auburntigersshop.com.
