Auburn Ranks 11th In Players On NFL Rosters
Oct. 5, 2006 AUBURN, Ala. - Auburn University ranks 11th among all colleges in the number of players on NFL rosters during the league's opening weekend, according to data distributed by the league. The Tigers had 27 players listed on NFL rosters. Auburn was one of five Southeastern Conference schools out of the top 11, as the SEC led all conferences with 266 of its former student-athletes on NFL rosters. Using current conference alignments, the ACC ranked second with 247 players, while the Big Ten was third with 236. The Pac-10 ranked fourth (184) and the Big 12 was fifth (174).
