Auburn Drops Exhibition Game to AUM, 69-64

AUBURN, Ala. - The Auburn University men's basketball team dropped an exhibition game to "AUM played and shot better than us at crucial times," head coach Jeff Lebo said. "We have a young and fragile group and this hurts our kid's confidence, but at least this game doesn't count against us." Junior Frank Tolbert led the way for AU with 21 points and 10 rebounds. Sophomore Korvotney Barber added 16 rebounds and six boards, while junior Archie Miaway chipped-in 11 points.
The Senators began the second half with five unanswered points, but a Barrett trey ended the run. The Tigers got to within one (63-62) on a dunk by Barrett and took its first lead since halftime on a Miaway jumper with 48 seconds left on the clock. AUM regained the lead at the 0:32 mark and buried four late free throws to seal the win. |
