AUBURN - Auburn junior right-hander Steven Register was named to the All-Southeastern Conference second team as a relief pitcher, announced the league office Tuesday.  The All-SEC honors were selected by a vote of the league's 12 head baseball coaches.

The Columbus, Ga., native finished the regular season with a perfect 7-0 record with eight saves and a 4.02 earned run average.  Register pitched in 22 contests with three starts, tallying 52 strikeouts in 56 innings of work. Register is second all-time at Auburn and sixth on the SEC's career charts with 25 saves.

An All-SEC first-team member last season, Register is the fourth pitcher in school history to earn multiple all-conference honors.  The former Tiger pitchers to earn two or more All-SEC honors include: Q.V. Lowe (1966-67), Joe Beckwith (1976-77), Gregg Olson (1987-88) and John Powell (1991-92-93-94).  Powell was a second-team pick in 1992 and 1994.
