Auburn Cross Country Teams Each Finish 12th At NCAA South Regional

KNOXVILLE, Tenn. - The Auburn men's and women's cross country teams finished in 12th place at the NCAA South Regional at Lambert Acres Golf Club in Knoxville on Saturday morning. The men totaled 369 points, while the women registered 340 points. On the men's side, AU was led by sophomore Chase Oliver, who placed 65th (33:49.60). Sophomore Simon Nyang (33:56.80) came in 69th and junior Elliot Smith placed 71st (33:57.80). Senior Joey Giattino came in 75th (34:09.70) and freshman Scott Novack finished 89th (34.28.20), while freshman Mark Fleming placed 107th (34:59.90).
On the women's side, the Tigers were led by freshmen Sabrina Fischer (22:24.80) who placed 36th. Freshman Laurel Pritchard (23:05.20) finished 57th and junior Becca Bell placed 81st (23:58.20). Junior Jessica Smith's time of 24:00.1 earned her an 82nd place finish, while junior Megan Karl came in 84th (24:02.40). Freshman Katelyn Simpson finished 89th (24:13.60). |
