BATON ROUGE, La. -

The Auburn women's cross country team finished in 10 place (251 points), while the men finished in 11^th (301 points) at the SEC Championships at Highland Road Park in Baton Rouge on Saturday morning.  The 11^th place finish for the men snapped a streak of two-straight top-five finishes at the conference meet.

On the women's side, the Tigers were led by freshmen Sabrina Fischer (21:50.12) and Laurel Pritchard (21:50.94), who finished 41st and 42nd, respectively.  Junior Megan Karl placed 63^rd (22:34.60), while freshman Katelyn Simpson came in 67^th (22:45.34).  Rounding out the scoring for AU was junior Jessica Smith (23:08.90), who placed 74^th.  Also competing for Auburn was junior Denise Daughenbaugh, who finished 98^th (24:10.95) and freshman Kristen Hiott, who came in 105^th (24:38.39).

On the men's side, AU was led by freshman Scott Novack (26:07.85), who finished 52^nd.  Sophomore Chase Oliver placed 64^th (26:31.32), while senior Joey Giattino came in 70^th (26:42.12) in his first race of the season.  A pair of freshmen rounded out the scoring for Auburn as Simon Nyang (26:43.09) came in 71^st and freshman Mark Fleming (26:45.28) placed 73rd.  Sophomore Elliot Smith placed 74^th (26:49.57) and freshman Josh Pawlik came in 77^th (27:00.84).  Freshman David Wall came in 89^th (28:05.37) and junior Zach Olsen placed 94^th (29:32.60) for the Tigers.

Arkansas won the men's team title with 21 points, combining with the women to sweep.  The Razorbacks had four runners in the top-five and five runners in the top-seven.  Ole Miss freshman Barnabus Kirui won the team title with a time of 23:53.24.

The Auburn men and women will next run at the NCAA South Regional in Knoxville, Tenn., on Nov. 11.
