Competed in the 100m back and 200m back at the 2008 United States Olympic Trials... Swam to a 20th-place finish in the 100m back (55.78) and a 21st-place finish in the 200 back (2:01.49)... At the NCAA Championships in Federal Way, Wash., Norys earned two All-America honors in the 400 medley relay and the 400 freestyle relay... Swam the third leg (42.69) on the runner-up 400 free relay (2:49.48) and the backstroke leg (47.57) on the 400 medley relay that finished ninth in a time of 3:08.60... Individually at NCAA's, Norys made the consolation final in the 100 back finishing, 14th in a time of 47.35 where he earned another honorable mention All-America honor... Also swam to an 18th-place finish in the 200 back (1:43.77)... His time of 46.77 in the 100 back ranks third all-time at Auburn, while his time of 1:43.77 in the 200 back ranks eighth all-time at Auburn... At the SEC Championships in Tuscaloosa, Ala., Norys swam the backstroke leg (47.88) on the SEC Champion 400 medley relay (3:08.57)... Individually, he swam in two championship finals, placing third in the 100 back (47.36) and a fourth in the 200 back (1:44.25)... Also swam to a 16th-place finish in the 100 fly (48.56) at SECs.

Attended El Diamante High School and swam for the Tule Nation Tritons, also known as "TNT"... A nine-time high school All-American... His high school team won D2 Valley meet after only having a swim team for three eyars... Two-time Central California High School Swimmer of the Year...
