Earned four All-America honors at the 2009 NCAA Championships in College Station, Texas ... Became Auburn's first NCAA champion in any backstroke event, when he finished first in the 100 back in a time of 45.13 ... Swam the third leg of the NCAA champion 400 free relay that set a NCAA record in 2:46.67 ... Also swam the third leg of the NCAA record-breaking 200 free relay that took the title in 1:14.08 ... Took seventh in the 200 back in 1:40.24 ... His time in the event ranks third all-time at Auburn ... Also swam in the 50 free and finished 20th in 19.49 ... At the SEC Championships, Norys was a part of two conference champion relay squads ... Norys swam the third leg of the 400 free relay that finished in 2:46.03 ... Freshman Season (2007-08)
Competed in the 100m back and 200m back at the 2008 United States Olympic Trials... Swam to a 20th-place finish in the 100m back (55.78) and a 21st-place finish in the 200 back (2:01.49)... At the NCAA Championships in Federal Way, Wash., Norys earned two All-America honors in the 400 medley relay and the 400 freestyle relay... Swam the third leg (42.69) on the runner-up 400 free relay (2:49.48) and the backstroke leg (47.57) on the 400 medley relay that finished ninth in a time of 3:08.60... Individually at NCAA's, Norys made the consolation final in the 100 back finishing, 14th in a time of 47.35 where he earned another honorable mention All-America honor... Also swam to an 18th-place finish in the 200 back (1:43.77)... At the SEC Championships in Tuscaloosa, Ala., Norys swam the backstroke leg (47.88) on the SEC Champion 400 medley relay (3:08.57)... Individually, he swam in two championship finals, placing third in the 100 back (47.36) and a fourth in the 200 back (1:44.25)... Also swam to a 16th-place finish in the 100 fly (48.56) at SECs.
