A native of Oradell, N.J., Jon Michelini enters his second year on the plains as assistant athletic trainer working with the Tigers baseball program. His secondary responsibilities include the supervision and organization of AU drug testing procedures.

Prior to his arrival on the plains Michelini was employed as an assistant athletic trainer at Stetson University in Deland, FL. His primary responsibilities included coverage of Stetson baseball and men's soccer during the 2004-2007 seasons. In additional to his collegiate experience, Michelini has worked as an intern with HealthSouth, Buchholtz High School, Hampton Oaks Sports Medicine Center, and Gaither High School.

Michelini received his Bachelor's of Science in Exercise and Sports Sciences from the University of Florida in 2001. While at Florida, he worked with the Gators baseball team. He earned his Master's in Exercise Science from The University of South Alabama in 2004. During his time as a graduate assistant he worked with the track and field teams as well as cross country and baseball.

Jon is a certified member of the National Athletic Trainers' Association. He also a certified member of the Southeastern Athletic Trainers' Association, Alabama Athletic Trainers' Association, and Athletic Trainers Association of Florida (ATAF).

Michelini is married to the former Heather Quicke of Perry, Fla. They currently reside in Opelika.
