Auburn, Ala. - Nine previous Walter Gilbert Award winners will be in honored during a halftime recognition at Saturday's Auburn-Ole Miss football game at Jordan-Hare Stadium.

The former Walter Gilbert Award recipients in attendance will include: Morris Savage (1993), Ed Dyas (1994), Lloyd Nix (1995), Richard Guthrie (1996), Ernie Warren (1998), John Mengelt (2000), Jimmy Fibbe (2002), Charles Carlan (2004) and Ken Johns (2006).

The 2007 Walter Gilbert Award winner will also be recognized Saturday at halftime.

The Walter Gilbert Award is given annually to former Auburn athletes who have distinguished themselves through achievements after graduation from Auburn. The award is given in memory of the Tigers' three-time All-America center Walter Gilbert, who later became vice president of Texaco's European Oil Operations.
