Courtney Brenkus Added To Student-Athlete Support Services Staff
July 17, 2008 AUBURN - Courtney Brenkus has joined the Auburn Athletics Department as an Academic Counselor in Student-Athlete Support Services announced Senior Associate Athletic Director Virgil Starks Thursday. Brenkus, who earned undergraduate and graduate degrees at Akron, comes to Auburn after working as an academic coordinator for student-athletes at George Mason University. "Ms. Brenkus possesses all the qualities needed to help Auburn University support its student-athletes," said Starks. "Her experience as a Division I student-athlete and her professional endeavors has uniquely qualified her to serve our students and enhance our academic support team and she will definitely be a part of our future success." While at Akron, Brenkus earned a Bachelor of Fine and Applied Arts in 2005, following it up with a Masters of Fine and Applied Arts in 2006. She was also a four-year letterwinner as part of the Zips women's tennis team, working her way up to No. 1 singles and doubles as a senior. As a student-athlete, Brenkus was named to the Dean's List all four years, was named a Intercollegiate Scholar-Athlete in 2004-05 and earned the Mid-American Conference Commissioner's Award following the 2004-05 season. Brenkus, a native of Geneva, Ohio, also worked for a year as a graduate assistant in the Akron Athletic Department. |
