47 Auburn Student-Athletes Named To SEC Academic Spring Honor Roll

AUBURN - A total of 47 Auburn student-athletes have been named to the 2006-07 Southeastern Conference Spring Academic Honor Roll, it was announced Wednesday by SEC Commissioner Mike Slive.

The 2006-07 SEC Spring Academic Honor Roll is based on grades from the 2006 Summer and Fall and 2007 Spring terms.

Equestrian had the most athletes earn SEC Academic Honor Roll distinctions with nine. They include Jessica Braswell (Agricultural Business & Economics), Natalie Burton (History), Alexandra Goldstein (Finance), Jennifer Jordan (Animal Sciences), Whitney Kimble (Psychology), Erin McMahon (Business Administration), Jennifer Reinhart (Pre-Elementary Education), Chelsea Shaunessy (Finance) and Kimberly Tidwell (Animal Sciences).

Men's track and field was honored with eight selections. Those selected from the team are Jacob Dunkleberger (Business Administration), Joe Giattino (Philosophy), Jhak Keegan (Pre-Medicine), Jager Livingston (Chemical Engineering), Cory Martin (Physical Education), Scott Novack (Pre-Chemical Engineering), Patrick Philbin (Architecture) and Gregory Rogers (Software Engineering).

Women's golf had six selections to the academic honor roll. Those include Elizabeth Boyd (Marketing), Lauren Hawkins (Finance), Jessica Lovell (Marketing), Mariana Macias (International Business), Marisa Milligan (Health Promotion) and Margaret Shirley (Communication).

Both baseball and women's track and field had five athletes honored by the SEC. Baseball players selected include Josh Blake (Criminology), Blake Carver (Biomedical Sciences), Chris Dennis (Health Promotion), Ben Jones (Mechanical Engineering) and Philip Stringer (Business Administration).

Women's track and field athletes named to the list are Becca Bell (Biomedical Sciences), Sabrina Fischer (Sociology), Megan Karl (Biosystems Engineering), Katalin Mate (Art-Liberal Arts) and Kerron Stewart (Adult Education).

Three Auburn teams finished with four selections apiece. The first is men's golf and is represented by Steven Groover (Marketing), Cole Moreland (Economics-Liberal Arts), James Moseley (Business Administration) and Glenn Northcutt (Pre-Business).

Softball is the second sport to earn four honors and they are Jorja Bell (Human Development & Family Studies), Sara Ghezzi (Hotel & Restaurant Management), Nicole Russo (Nutrition & Food Science) and Lauren Walton (Elementary Education).

Men's tennis is the last Auburn team with four selections. Those honors go to Pawel Dilaj (Finance), Milan Krnjetin (Pre-Industrial Design), Robbert Lathouwers (International Business) and Lukas Marsoun (Undeclared Liberal Arts).

Women's tennis was the final Auburn sport to be recognized with two selections. They are Kelly Adams (Political Science) and Whitney Chappell (Pre-Medicine).
