57 Auburn Student-Athletes Named To SEC Academic Spring Honor Roll

AUBURN - A total of 57 Auburn student-athletes have been named to the 2007-08 Southeastern Conference Spring Academic Honor Roll, it was announced Tuesday by SEC Commissioner Mike Slive.

The 2007-08 SEC Spring Academic Honor Roll is based on grades from the 2007 Summer and Fall and 2008 Spring terms.

Equestrian and men's track and field had the most athletes earn SEC Academic Honor Roll distinctions with 11 each. Equestrian's honorees included Jennifer Barbero (Agricultural Business and Economics), Jessica Braswell (Agricultural Business and Economics), Jennifer Jordan (Animal Sciences), Erin McMahon (Business Administration), Kylie Miller (Exercise Science), Jennifer Reinhart (Elementary Education), Rebecca Rifkin (Animal Sciences), Courtney Schafer (Marketing), Chelsea Shaunessy (General Social Science Education), Kimberly Tidwell (Animal Sciences) and Mary-Elsye Winchester (Agricultural Business and Economics).

Men's track and field representatives included Jacob Dunkleberger (Business Administration), Mark Fleming (Wireless Engineering Hardware), Stephen Fly (Supply Chain Management), Luke Gaines (Industrial Design), Jager Livingston (Chemical Engineering), Cory Martin (Physical Education/Teacher Education), Scott Novack (Chemical Engineering), Chase Oliver (Industrial Design), Luke Robinson (Mathematics Education), Gregory Rogers (Computer Science and Software Engineering) and David Wall (Aerospace Engineering).

Women's track and field was next with eight selections including Miriam Arusei (Pre-Nursing Science), Becca Bell (Pharmacy), Sabrina Fischer (Sociology), Megan Karl (Bio-Systems Engineering), Katalin Mate (Art Liberal Arts) Tracy Ann Rowe (Adult Education), Amy Shaffer (Pre-Business) and Katelyn Simpson (Exercise Science).

Both men's golf and softball had six selections to the academic honor roll. Men's golfers included Nils Bjorling (German), Brent Cooper (Information Systems Management), Steven Groover (Marketing), Jay Moseley (Administration of Higher Education), Glenn Northcutt (Marketing) and Keith White (Business Administration).

Softball honorees were Jorja Bell (Human Development and Family Studies), Brittany Day (Information Systems Management), Lindsay Harrelson (Health Promotion), Krista Klein (Political Science), Jessica Martin (Collaborative Teacher Special Education) and Anna Thompson (Finance).

Baseball had five selections including Paul Burnside (Marketing), Evan Crawford (Adult Education), Jamie Drinkard (Building Science), Michael Hurst (Marketing) and Ben Jones (Mechanical Engineering).

Four women's golfers were honored including Karlin Beck (Pre-Business), Lauren Hawkins (Economics), Mariana Macias (International Business) and Margaret Shirley (Communication).

The men's and women's tennis teams each had three members recognized. From the men's team were Pawel Dilaj (Finance), Lukas Marsoun (International Business) and Alexey Tsyrenov (International Business). The women's team members were Heather Bybee (Industrial Design), Whitney Chappell (Information Systems Management) and Jil Hastenrath (International Business).
